Steps we’re taking to address COVID-19

Enjoy the best rental experience

Things have changed. And so have we. The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 and are taking action based on guidance from public health experts. In order to maintain a safe environment, we are taking these additional measures, including:

All vehicles are disinfected between rentals

Additional cleaning of cars with disinfectant has been implemented, including the car keys, key tags, door handles, steering wheel, gear stick, handbrake handles, seat belts, glove compartment, rear view mirrors and all buttons and control switches. This is done once the car has already been parked for customer pick-up.

Enhanced cleaning protocols at rental stations

We have increased the frequency of cleaning at our rental stations. We routinely disinfect all handles, counters, POS devices, pens and tablets throughout the day. Key cabinets and keypads are also disinfected. Hand sanitizers are available for customers and employees at all of our stations.

Renters coming from defined areas with a high risk of infection

We have implemented procedures regarding rentals to customers who are coming from defined high-risk areas. This applies primarily to our station at the international airport in Keflavik. This procedure is also considered as a safety precaution for all our customers and frontline employees. Customers coming from high-risk areas will receive an email with the specific instructions for how to pick up their car.

All rental stations are open

All of our rental stations are currently open, and there have been no changes to our offered services. Opening hours may have shifted slightly at some of our locations. Please find updated opening hours for all of our rental stations here. We kindly ask all customers to keep a safe distance when communicating with our employees to ensure your and their safety.
